I first met Henry when I was a new recruit in the Middlesex Ambulance Service at Edmonton. Henry immediately took me under his wing and helped me with my limited first aid knowledge and how to handle injured persons. We had many happy days, in fact years, of working together, having dealt with most incidents. Although the service was supposed to be a serious one we had many laughs to the point of tears. We started to make wine together we, whilst on duty, visited many wine making shops or stopping to pick fruit or flowers to take back to Elmhurst Road, Enfield Highway to make wine. We both had a daughter of about the same age with our wives swapping ideas and methods of bringing them up. It will be a great loss to me to think my old mate will not be there although I shall always have numerous happy memories of him. I am so sorry that I can’t be with you tomorrow but my thoughts will be. Love and best wishes to you both. xx. Tony Pooley. xx
